Dallo zainetto alla stringbag (aggiornamento)

Ennesima telefonata registrata. Non riesco a credere a quanto sento. Controllo le mail e vi trovo infatti questa notifica dalla scuola di Tommaso:

“Good evening Phillips Middle School parents. This is Mrs. Tomeka Ward-Satterfield, your Principal, with an important message regarding an incident that occurred at school earlier today. You may have heard about a report of a student having a pistol in his backpack. Based on multiple students reporting this to the office, our school resource officer searched the locker and found the weapon. I want to set the record straight and let you know that, in fact, the student brought a pellet gun to school. This pellet gun strongly resembled a real gun. To our knowledge, nobody was threatened with the pellet gun. Still, this matter has been taken very seriously, as are all safety matters, and will be dealt with in accordance with our board policy. I want to commend the students who reported this and remind all students to report anything that makes them feel unsafe immediately to the first adult they see at school.  If anyone has any additional information regarding this incident, please contact me.  Thank you for listening and for your continued support.”

Un ragazzino si è portato a scuola un fucile ad aria compressa, nello zainetto… alcuni compagni lo hanno visto e lo hanno denunciato alla preside. Pare nessuno sia stato minacciato. Sequestrato il fucile, del tutto simile ad uno vero, ci si interroga sulla sicurezza. I ragazzi sono invitati ad avvisare immediatamente un adulto nel caso non si sentissero al sicuro…

Non capivo come gli zainetti fossero pericolosi e avevo, purtroppo, ipotizzato scherzosamente quanto è poi accaduto sul serio! Se le stringbag non bastano, forse aiutano…

In North Carolina una legge recente ha ulteriormente ampliato le possibilità di possedere o acquistare armi. Nonostante questo la politica della Duke non è cambiata: le armi da fuoco sono proibite in tutte le proprietà della Duke. Grandi!
